Mental Health
Hi guys! I don't know if anyone comes here anymore or if anyone will read this, but I figured I would ask anyway. If I recall correctly, some of you have mentioned struggling with mental health issues or knowing people who have currently as well as in the past. I have been watching someone important...

Re: What Are You Reading?
Having only read the first Kushiel book, I'd not classify it as smut or erotica either. The main reason I didn't continue on in the series was because it seemed like the politics and intrigue were about to really pick up and my brain just wasn't in the right place for that at the time. After trying ...

Re: What Are You Reading?
I found the recent Age of Madness series to be a wee bit lacking when compared to his First Law trilogy and the three standalone novels between them. I just didn't care nearly as much about the main characters as I did in the other books. That said, I agree completely about his writing style. That ...

Re: What Are You Reading?
I just tore through the three most recent Joe Abercrombie books in the First Law series (Age of Madness). It took maybe under two weeks, I agree those are easy to binge and if anyone knows of books similar to his I'd be interested in recommendations. The closest I've found are the Malazan book of th...

Re: So, what's new?
If I hear anything buzzing I am running for cover. I don't think I have ever been stung so I have no experience and when my dog was stung I touched the area ...which is a bad idea...so there I am pouring vinegar and baking soda all over his back because I have no idea what to do regarding bee stings...

Re: So, what's new?
Regarding bees, I've heard that there is alot of drama surrounding the queens. Vying for the "throne", Bees hunting her down and killing her to steal her place. I forget the details, but it all sounded sinister. I've not been up to much. Working, dogs, cycling, chocolate... My current dile...

Re: What Are You Reading?
Autobiography from North Korean defector/survivors sounds like something that might be of interest to my wife. Do you have any recommendations in particular, along those lines? "Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea" is definitely worth checking out. It is written by an American ...

Re: What Are You Reading?
I spent this past year reading all of the Malazan books. I enjoyed them up until the ending which I could not quite wrap my head around, so that was a bit unfulfilling...I tried reading the Ian Esslemont books also set in the same world, but gave up partway through the 2nd one. I am a fan of the Fir...
